Introduction of the story and process of founding Chosuk Construction Industry in 1977

Chairman Choi: "Continue with various challenges and self-development" 

The National Suncheon National University recently invited Chairman Choi Gyun-young of Choseok Construction Industry to hold a ‘Special Lecture for Local Entrepreneurs’ at the Choseok Hall in the 70th Anniversary Memorial Hall on campus.

According to Suncheon National University on the 8th, this special lecture was held on September 15th in order to commemorate the will of Chairman Choi Gyun-young of Choseok Construction Industry, who greatly contributed to the development of the university by expanding the fundraising for the university development fund as the chairman of the Suncheon National University Development Support Association and donating a large amount of development funds himself. The theme of the lecture was ‘Entrepreneurial Spirit’, which was heard directly from Chairman Choi, who named the conference room on the 2nd floor of the 70th Anniversary Memorial Hall on September 15th and commemorated it.

Chairman Choi, who graduated from a local university and entered the job market early, introduced numerous anecdotes and stories from his experiences in the process of raising business funds and starting a business until he founded Choseok Construction Industry in 1977.

Chairman Choi said, “The driving force behind the growth of a small company in Suncheon into a global company with local corporations and branches in six countries, including Singapore, beyond the region and South Korea was the endless challenges and the quality of comparative advantage through new technology development,” and urged the students to “become capable individuals through various challenges and self-development.”

The special lecture that day also included time for Chosuk Construction Industry executives and staff to introduce the company. After the lecture, some students had the opportunity to consult with company officials about field training and employment.

President Koh Young-jin of Suncheon National University said, “I would like to thank Chairman Choi Gyun-young and staff who readily agreed to give the lecture despite their busy schedules with business operations,” and added, “I hope that this meaningful lecture will serve as an opportunity for students to grow into individuals who can play a pivotal role in the globalization of local companies.”

Meanwhile, Cho Seok Construction Industry Chairman Choi Gyun-young has contributed to the development of the university by donating 300 million won to the development fund of Suncheon National University since 2020 and donating an additional 100 million won for the facility improvement project of the 70th Anniversary Memorial Hall conference room, creating a total of 400 million won in the university development fund, contributing to the development of the university.
