Compaction, reinforcement and consolidation drainage
1. Overview of the method
1) Principle of the method
① A method of creating a large-diameter compacted sand pile in soft ground. (Compaction, reinforcement, and consolidation drainage).
② When used in conjunction with loading soil, it is possible to increase the initial embankment height and shorten the construction period.
2) Applicability
① Applicable to almost all grounds such as tank foundations, sandy soil and clay soil, landfills, port facilities, foundations of wastewater treatment facilities, sedimentary soil, etc.
② Areas where weight, large-scale construction, and construction period shortening are required.
③ When selecting a more powerful and reliable ground improvement method.
④ One construction machine can replace S.D. at any location and depth.
2. Construction method characteristics
1) Sandy soil
① Prevents liquefaction during earthquakes and vibrations.
② Increases shear strength of the soil (increases horizontal load).
③ Reduces compressive settlement.
④ Homogenizes the soil by compaction.
2) Clay soil
① Increases shear resistance of the soil by creating a composite soil.
② Increases bearing capacity and prevents active destruction.
③ Reduces compressive settlement (DRAIN effect).
④ Residual settlement stabilizes extremely early.
⑤ Prevents uneven settlement with the composite soil function.
3. Construction method and order
1) Measure and mark the pouring location with red cloth.
2) CASING penetration and sand injection.
3) CASING extraction.
4) CASING compaction (re-penetration).
5) CASING extraction.
6) CASING compaction (re-penetration).
7) Repeat steps 3) to 6).
8) Move to the next construction location.
